Only a few days left before it starts …
Traveling to Antarctica is certainly a special experience and anything but a package tour. We spent a long time searching for suitable providers—there are several tour operators worldwide that offer trips to this remote region. We wanted to discover as much as possible on our trip and also set foot on the mainland of the seventh continent. We found what we were looking for at HX Expeditions. And so, starting on November 12, we will spend four weeks exploring the southernmost part of the planet. After a stopover in Santiago de Chile, we will depart from Punta Arenas in southern Chile. From there, our tour will first take us to the Falkland Islands, known locally as the Malvinas. Then we will travel to South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula. Since the itinerary here is determined by the ice, we cannot predict which destinations we will visit. In any case, we hope to explore Deception Island and a few other islands in the South Shetlands. There are many historical sites here—former whaling stations and research facilities—not to mention many places that Ernest Shackleton visited during his ill-fated expedition in 1914.
